No More Ghosts - Maddox Jones

We say

With a track seeped in emotion and honest songwriting, Northampton singer-songwriter Maddox Jones delivers a heartfelt and haunting goodbye to a past relationship in No More Ghosts. Produced by Harry Tarlton (Tom Misch, Lianne La Havas) and taken from his debut solo EP Headspace, the track offers a soulful blend of piano and synth melodies for an ambitious modern pop ballad with a subtle ’80s tint. It’s a markedly different direction for the former frontman of early ’00s alt-rock band The Departure but one that is bold and shows the depth to his craft, musically and lyrically. Tastemaker praise for his EP has so far come from the likes of Spin, American Songwriter and It’s All Indie, plus radio support from BBC and iHeart Radio. Upon release, the EP hit no.4 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts back in July and Maddox is already working on its follow up for later in the year.
